Shield
Buff and scarlet are traditionally associated with Support organizations. Black stands for strength and security, gold for excellence. The keys, addorsed and intertwined, stand for the support mission of providing advance and rear guard action to sustain a force in battle, represented by the crossed sabers. The sabers also stand for the individual soldier.
Crest
The dragon represents service in Vietnam, where the 225th Support Battalion participated in the Counteroffensive, Phase VII. It holds a spear symbolizing combat. Red stands for courage and sacrifice, gold for excellence.
The coat of arms was approved on 1 October 1991.
